Moderne Hotel

  Moderne Hotel designated as Harbin First Class Preserved Building locates at No.89 Central Street Dao Li District.
  Built in 1906, the hotel is a three -floor brick cement structure building. It covers an area of 10,000 square meters with architectural area of 8,500 square meters. It belongs to Louis Fourteenth type of architectures during the period of French Renaissance. The Judaic Joseph invited his sincere Russian friend named Yokinnov to undertake the design. The structure is simple、free and smooth, reflecting the basic styles of New Art Movement. Its inner decoration is elegant and fine. It embodies the characteristics of French noble families in 18th century. The building itself includes guest rooms、dining hall and cinema which ever became activity center for high ranking officials and honored people.
  In the summer of 1933, American reporter Edgar·snow lived there. After liberation, due to its fame, the hotel hosted many famous historical persons respectively. PuYi、the 14th Dalailama、GuoMoruo、SongQingling ever stayed here.
